Derrick Thomas Among 17 Finalists for Hall of Fame

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced on Wednesday that Chiefs LB Derrick Thomas is one of 17 finalists who will be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2007. Thomas is in his third year of eligibility for the Hall of Fame after a stellar 11-year career with the Chiefs from ‘89-99.

The Hall of Fame’s Board of Selectors will meet in Miami, Florida on Saturday, February 3, 2007, to elect the Hall of Fame Class of 2007. To be elected, a finalist must receive a minimum positive vote of 80 percent. The Class of 2007 will be announced at a press conference at 1:30 PM (CT) on Saturday, February 3rd, at the Super Bowl media center in the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Enshrinement of the Class of 2007 will take place at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on the weekend of August 4-5, 2007.
